Soil and Micro Organisms
- Assessment of the effects on biogeochemical processes
- Analysis of soil fertility, nitrogen fixation, fate of any
newly expressed gene products and derivates
- Analysis of alteration of mineralisation (e.g. root exudates
changing the soil pH)
Methods:
- Pyrolysis-Field Ionisation Mass Spectrometry (Py-FIMS) and
Field Desorption Mass Spectrometry (FDMS) are used to identify
and quantify the molecular-chemical composition of complex
organic biomaterials (soils and soil extracts, plant material,
root exudates and rhizodeposition, biowaste, dissolved organic
matter)
- Analysis of bacterial communities and beneficial micro
organisms like Rhizobiae and Mycorrhizae
